We see what we want! It’s the gospel truth! These two were literally huddled over in a corner table nose to nose and the person with me said “I bet they are up to no good” well you know me… I walked over, told them to scoot over. After 10 seconds of dead silence I said so whats happening at this table? I get nothing.. I then explained it was my store and they should spill it… They showed me their phones and they were texting friends trying to scrape up $3.00 each for the high school basketball game! Well they left with smiles, money for popcorn and bus fare. We have to STOP judging people and assuming and pigeon holing people!…

Wednesday’s Child success story surprises Gloria Campos

This was a great story that was featured on the national news. This woman did some great work in her career as a journalist. Can you imagine how many lives she touched?

Wednesday’s Child success story surprises Gloria Campos

This is a video about our local news reporter retiring. This video talks about her work with Wednesday’s Child where she featured a child in foster care in hopes that he/she may be adopted. This very “honest” short story also shows that not adoptions are a perfect match.

I just love the spirit of this young man. I see him doing great things in his future. What an inspiration.

You may need some tissues after watching this.

It’s the last video at the bottom…

Louis CK on the Power of Sitting and Other Fascinating News on the Web

Right on the money. Also, I’m guilty as hell for keeping my phone always at less than an arm’s length away. I need to stop this – because my daughter’s are watching.

  1. Who Just Sits Anymore?

“You need to build an ability to just be yourself and not be doing something. That’s what the phones are taking away. The ability to just sit there … that’s being a person.” That quote comes from a person who is quickly become one of America’s foremost philosophers when it comes to critiquing the digital age: Louis CK. He made that comment as part of a predictably awesome appearance on Conan O’Brien’s show last night. Of course, he’s right. That said, there’s a decent chance you’ll be reading this, and watching him, on your cell phone at a time when you’d otherwise be just sitting there. Oh well, maybe you can try being a person later.

  2. Chicago Gangs on Social Media

In what a authorities describe as a gang-related shooting, someone opened fire at a park on Chicago’s South Side and shot 13 people, including a…

WATCH: Baby Elephant Splashes Around in Kiddie Pool

Yet one more reason why elephants are my favorite animal! How cute is this?

NewsFeed

When it comes to cooling off in the hot summer sun, we could all learn a lot from a baby elephant. The newest addition to the Fort Worth Zoo’s Asian elephant ranks, Baby Belle has been enjoying her pool time with her mother, Rasha, almost as much as the internet is enjoying watching the splash-filled summertime romp.

Born on July 7, Belle is only the second elephant born at the zoo in its 104-year history. Zoo spokeswoman Katie Giangreco told the Associated Press that Belle weighed 330 pounds at birth and is gaining two pounds per day. She says the baby elephant “is curious and full of personality, learning new things every day, learning what her trunk is for, learning to use her legs.”
